Growing Your Impact: Enabling Conversations for Change
Summer School 2025 for OD, Learning and HR Professionals
A unique opportunity for you as an OD, Learning or HR professional to build your intervention skills for enabling change and growth, as well as your personal and interpersonal effectiveness more broadly.
8 hours total over January to March ’25 – including 3 x 2-hour live, online workshops and 2 hours of punchy and engaging self-paced learning.
Workshop dates: Thursday 30 January, Thursday 20 February, Thursday 13 March – all 12 – 2 pm Sydney time.
Enabling Change and Growth
As a professional in OD, Learning, HR Business Partnering or related areas, you’re almost necessarily in the business of change – not necessarily in a conventional ‘change management’ sense but, more broadly, in bringing about shifts and improvements to benefit individuals, groups and the organisation.
Change in this broader sense implies conversation – about where things are at now, where they need to get to, and how to move in the desired direction.
In this course, you will gain skills in opening-up conversations to help get to the heart of issues, explore different perspectives, and foster action for growth and change. You will develop skills at a personal ‘mindset’ level as well as boosting your interpersonal effectiveness and your ability to engage with impact on broader issues.

Program Structure
The program includes 3 cycles, each with 40 minutes of engaging self-paced learning followed by a 2-hour live virtual workshop.
This structure:
- Puts the content learning primarily in the online modules, enabling the workshops to focus on participants’ challenges and practical applications
- Provides opportunities for skills practice and trial interventions between workshops
- Enables participants to come into the workshops with new experiences and challenges to process with colleagues and presenter.
What Others Have Said
I think this course has really allowed me to step outside my comfort zone and approach situations with more confidence. By doing so, I’ve also learnt to be more open minded as well as gaining the ability to shift perspectives in my interactions with colleagues but also with everyone outside of work too. I have become more aware of my actions, but more importantly my reactions in challenging situations.
Don’s ability to engage and trigger thoughts around being more conscious and mindful about how we approach daily conversations is really effective. The online modules provide a healthy foundation for understanding some of the principles that can be applied… When combined with discussion sessions that he facilitates personally, it really allows for us to truly think about and spark a change in the way we think and act during these conversations.
The Presenter
Don Dunoon has over 25 years’ experience in helping individuals and groups better practise leadership and engage safely & productively with others. He is the author of a widely cited article with Harvard mindfulness guru Dr. Ellen Langer (search Dunoon and Langer) as well as of the book In the Leadership Mode. Don is developer of the internationally recognised OBREAU conversation model.
