Change Leadership Through Conversation – 2 Hour Intensive Workshop

This workshop is designed to stimulate your managers, team leaders and/or professionals to reflect critically on their practice of leadership and to experiment with different approaches designed to foster emotional safety, teamwork and results.

Your managers, team leaders and professionals have likely participated in leadership programs. Yet how well are they practising leadership day to day? To what extent are they modelling the organisation’s values? How effectively are they fostering psychological safety, effective teamwork, and high-performance?

In this workshop, our focus is on the work of leadership and the centrality of conversation in enabling change. We introduce a framework, the OBREAU conversation model, and illustrate its application in your organisation’s context. Participants will be taught how to apply the model with typical leadership challenges.

WORKSHOP CONTENT

Participants learn about:

  • How leadership as a form of action differs from management as another form and technical work

  • Default behaviour patterns that can impede leadership practice – how to recognise and overcome them

  • Practising leadership through conversation: applying the OBREAU conversation model.

 

This workshop, presented by Don Dunoon, can be offered as a complement to an emerging leaders’ program or similar. Alternatively, it can be presented as a standalone and self-contained development opportunity. (The workshop can also be expanded into a more comprehensive leadership program, including elements such as additional workshops, action learning and coaching.)
